United Research Institute, or URI is a private, multi-specialty clinical research site in Miami, Florida area. With 7 board-certified physicians on the URI team as well as a staff of experienced research coordinators, nurse practitioners, and support personnel, URI has become a “Clinical Trials Site of Excellence” in the research arena.
URI is committed to our CRO and Sponsor partners. We will not execute any study contract unless we are confident that we can successfully complete the study, and that we can meet or exceed the enrollment goal.
Our sites are equipped with all necessary services and medical equipment to run successful trials. We have separate work areas that are very “monitor friendly” allowing for easy computer and phone access, and isolated from the patients and staff.
URI is committed to our patients. All of our investigators are available to the patients at all hours of the day. Our staff is very active in educating patients participating in clinical trials, and in carefully explaining the details of the trial during the informed consent process.
Our investigative personnel are trained in FDA ICH, and GCP guidelines. URI maintains an excellent “coordinator to patient” ratio, guaranteeing adequate time for excellent quality assurance as well as a high level of accurate data entry.
We are affiliated with two joint commission accredited hospitals, as well as multiple healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, and nursing facilities.

Meet Our Specialist
Psychiatry
Over 10 years in clinical research trial experience as an investigator. He has been actively involved in education and is the psychiatry residency program Director at Southern Winds Hospital.
Gastroenterology
Dr. Onix Garib is a Gastroenterologist with Board Certification in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He has extensive experience as an investigator in clinical research studies.
Psychiatry
Dr. Patrick Pinchinat is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist. He has been in practice for 15 years and currently serves as the Medical Director at Southern Winds Hospital.
Internal Medicine, Hematology-Oncology
Dr. Don Poster is a Hematology and Medical Oncology expert and is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He has been a practicing physician for over 40 years. He has previously conducted research studies for the National Institute of Health and worked on projects for the FDA.
Urologist
He has conducted research on both prostate and kidney issues. He has received an award for compassionate position recognition an award given to only 3% of doctors.
Family Medicine
Dr. Irina Licea is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician. She has 30 years of experience in Family Medicine and shares a practice with her husband, Dr. Raul Roa, MD.
Internal Medicine
Dr. Neil Furman is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician. He has been in practice for over 20 years and has helped thousands of patients as their primary care doctor.
